Pistachios are among the oldest cultivated plants and originate from the Middle East. They have been consumed for over 9,000 years. Like hazelnuts, they grow on both trees and shrubs.
Although pistachios are best known as a snack food, we also use them to produce chopped and ground products for our customers.
Pistachios are grown in several countries around the world, with some regions standing out due to their ideal climatic conditions. They thrive best in regions with warm, dry summers and cool winters. Pistachio trees can live up to 300 years and bear fruit for many decades. They reach full maturity after about 13 years.
